Aug 13 (Reuters) - The chief U.S. economist for Goldman Sachs, whose team produced a research report over the weekend that angered President Donald Trump because of its estimate that American consumers would soon bear the brunt of the costs of his tariffs, told CNBC on Wednesday that his team would continue producing such research.
"We're just trying to do the best economic forecast that we can for our clients, and we publish research reports like the one that we published over the weekend to inform those views," David Mericle said in response to a question about whether Trump's attack had sent a "chill" over his team. "And we'll keep doing that."
