Kremlin slams Trump tariff pressure on India over Russian oil as 'illegal'

MOSCOW, Aug 5 (Reuters) - The Kremlin on Tuesday pushed back against statements by U.S. President Donald Trump threatening to raise tariffs on India over its purchases of Russian oil, saying it was "illegal" to try to force countries to stop trading with Moscow.

The Kremlin said it interpreted pressures against its trading partners as "threats", and said all sovereign countries have the right to choose with whom they forge economic partnerships.
