Former Fed Governor Warsh says he'd be 'honored' to be Fed chair if asked

July 24 (Reuters) - Former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh said on Thursday he'd be "honored to serve" if President Donald Trump taps him to be the next Fed chair, telling Fox News that the central bank under current Fed chief Jerome Powell has lost credibility in the inflation fight.

If he was at the Fed now, Warsh told Fox News in an interview, "I'd be voting for a rate cut" next week. Trump has been pressing Powell to cut interest rates and has said he wants plans to replace Powell with someone who agrees.
