France's Macron says he spoke to Ukraine's Zelenskiy amid new EU sanctions on Russia

PARIS, July 18 (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that he had just spoken with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy and added he welcomed the adoption of the European Union's latest package of sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine.
"The Russian attacks must stop immediately," he wrote in a post on social media platform X. "France is and remains at Ukraine's side."
