Trump says Treasury's Bessent is an option to replace Fed chair, 'but I like the job he's doing'

WASHINGTON, July 15 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is an option to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
After landing at Joint Base Andrews, Trump was asked if Bessent was an option to replace Powell, whose terms ends next year.
"He's an option, and he's very good. Well, he's not, because I like the job he's doing, right?" Trump told reporters.
