Axis adds ex-HDI executive Mesallam as Canada construction underwriting leader

July 15 - (The Insurer) - Axis Capital has appointed Bassem Mesallam as construction underwriter practice leader in its Canada team.

In his new role, Mesallam will lead the build out of the specialty insurer's construction portfolio in Canada.

Mesallam has over 20 years of underwriting experience. He worked as head of construction and engineering for HDI Global in Canada for more than a decade until February this year.
