Canal Insurance adds Stachura as chief claims officer

July 14 - (The Insurer) - Commercial transportation specialist Canal Insurance Company has appointed Paul Stachura, a former State Auto executive, as vice president and chief claims officer.

Stachura brings experience in commercial auto claims and litigation management. He spent six years at State Auto, most recently serving as chief claims and risk engineering officer until 2022.

Earlier in his career, Stachura held senior leadership roles at QBE North America, Fireman’s Fund and Chubb. He also previously served as chairman of the claims committee for the American Insurance Association in Washington, D.C.
