July 9 - (The Insurer) - Marsh managing general underwriter Victor Insurance has appointed Mark Damico as president and chief operating officer of its flood insurance technology and services business Torrent Technologies.
Damico’s appointment is effective July 31. He will succeed Kevin Tobin, who is retiring after over 35 years in the industry.
Brookfield, Wisconsin-based Damico will be responsible for Torrent’s integrated suite of business software platforms, along with the company’s customer-focused service and support solutions.
These solutions support insurance providers offering the National Flood Insurance Program as “Write Your Own” carriers and a growing suite of private flood insurance options to homeowners and businesses.
Damico will also retain his current role as COO, leading business operations and product development.
He has more than 30 years of industry and leadership experience. He joined Torrent as COO in 2018 after several years as an entrepreneur, establishing business ventures in the midwestern U.S.
Prior to that, he was president and CEO of StoneRiver and held several leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility at Fiserv, including group president.
Damico will report to Victor CEO Charles Williamson.
“Mark is an exceptional leader with deep technology and customer experience expertise in the flood insurance sector,” said Williamson. “Under his leadership, Torrent will be well-positioned to support carriers and agents as the industry continues to evolve toward more sustainable solutions for homeowners and businesses in the U.S.”
