SAO PAULO, July 9 (Reuters) - Brazil's government will summon the U.S. embassy's chargé d'affaires after the diplomatic mission released a statement echoing President Donald Trump's defense of former Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro, local media reported on Wednesday.
Trump said in a social media post on Monday that Bolsonaro, who is on trial on charges of plotting a coup to stop Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva from taking office in January 2023, was the victim of a "witch hunt."
