Bessent says he spoke with EU counterpart on trade

WASHINGTON, July 3 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he spoke with his European Union counterpart on trade on Thursday as the two sides work to iron out an agreement.
Bessent said on CNBC that negotiators will be working diligently over the weekend "so we'll see what we can do with the European Union."
