July 1 - (The Insurer) - Coalition has hired CFC Underwriting’s U.S. cyber practice leader Michael Phillips for a senior leadership role within the insurtech’s cyber product underwriting group, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Cyber Risk Insurer.
Sources confirmed that Phillips resigned from his role with CFC on Monday and that the departing executive is still working out his exit arrangements, including the length of a possible gardening period.
CFC and Coalition did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Phillips had been in his role with CFC for the past two years, joining from cyber insurtech Resilience, where he had served as chief claims officer for over three years.
He previously had a brief stint as North America head of cyber, media and technology claims at Allianz. Before that, he worked at Beazley and law firm Clyde & Co.
Phillips is Coalition’s latest notable hire from throughout the industry. The insurtech earlier this year recruited Manny Cho from Risk Placement Services and David Lynders from Falcon Risk Services.
Phillips’ exit from CFC also comes after CFC USA CEO Shannon Groeber left the company in January and chief underwriting officer Dan Trueman left in February.
