BMS continues Australian broker deal as international M&A push continues

July 1 - (The Insurer) - BMS Group announced on Tuesday it has completed the acquisition of Queensland-based Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers.

Founded in 2006, Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers provides risk management advice and insurance broking services to large privately-owned organisations.

Jeremy Murfin, founder and director of Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers, will now become client director for BMS Australia, reporting to Stephen Moore, managing director for Brisbane-based BMS Risk Solutions QLD.

Murfin will also join the Australian executive leadership team.

The deal follows BMS Group’s recent international M&A activity, including the acquisition of Spanish broker Rasher and its Latin American subsidiaries earlier this year, as well as a deal for UAE-based broker Berms Brett Masaood (now BMS Masaood) last year.

BMS International CEO Nick Gillett signalled the division's bullish growth plans in an interview with The Insurer TV earlier this year, in which he estimated that by 2028 the business will have quadrupled in size, predominantly driven by M&A activity.
