MEXICO CITY, June 26 (Reuters) - Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission has temporarily intervened in the management of CIBanco and Intercam Banco after the U.S. Treasury a day earlier prohibited certain transactions with them, Mexican authorities said on Thursday.
According to a joint statement from the commission, the finance ministry, the Bank of Mexico, and Mexico's bank savings protection institute, the intervention replaces the banks' administrative bodies in an effort to protect the interests of depositors and creditors.
