June 26 - (The Insurer) - HDI Global has appointed Christian Wegener as head of investment management, the company said on Thursday.
Wegener succeeds Thorsten Wölbern, who HDI Global said will take on new challenges within the company after 15 years in the role.
The appointment is part of HDI Global's strategy to refine its investment capabilities, focusing on optimising risk-adjusted returns and overseeing global foreign currency hedging operations.
He has joined from HSBC Group in London, where he oversaw investment activities for life insurance entities in various regions.
Wölbern will now be responsible for the mandates of PVI Insurance and the UK Pension Trust.
