Germany's Wadephul: cutting Mediterranean rescue missions funds was 'right decision'

BERLIN, June 26 (Reuters) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Thursday that stopping financial support for civilian sea rescue organisations in the Mediterranean was the right decision to make.
"Germany remains committed to humanity and always will be," said Wadephul at a news conference with his Canadian counterpart.
"But I don't believe it is the foreign office's job to use funds for this type of sea rescue," he added.
