MEXICO CITY, June 25 (Reuters) - Mexico's finance ministry said on Wednesday it had not received conclusive evidence to support action by the U.S. Treasury targeting three Mexican financial institutions accused of money laundering.
Earlier on Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury prohibited certain transactions involving Mexico-based CIBanco, Intercam Banco, and Vector Casa de Bolsa as part of its fentanyl sanctions.
"We want to be clear: if we have conclusive information proving illicit activities by these three financial institutions, we will act to the fullest extent of the law," Mexico's finance ministry said. "However, to date, we have no information in this regard."
