Thai finance minister expects to soon propose candidate for next central bank chief

BANGKOK, June 24 (Reuters) - Thailand's finance minister said on Tuesday he expects to soon propose to cabinet a name for the next Bank of Thailand governor.
The successful candidate must work smoothly with the government, minister Pichai Chunhavajira said. The process for selecting a new governor is currently underway.
Pichai also said trade talks with the United States were expected go beyond the 90-day tariff pause that ends in July.
