FedEx pauses pickups for shipments to Israel and Iraq

June 20 (Reuters) - U.S. parcel delivery giant FedEx FDX.N said on Friday it was halting all pickups for shipments to Israel and Iraq amid heightened risk to flight safety in the Middle East airspace.
The exchange of missile fire between Israel and Iran has forced carriers to cancel or divert thousands of flights, shutting off much of the region's airspace.
The company said it was monitoring the situation and will adjust operations as needed, while nations take evacuation measures for citizens stranded in Israel and Iran.
FedEx does not serve Iran due to U.S. trade sanctions, which restrict most exports, imports and other transactions.
