Frankenmuth Insurance promotes Merrihew to chief underwriting officer

June 20 - (The Insurer) - Frankenmuth Insurance has promoted Scott Merrihew to chief underwriting officer, expanding his remit to include oversight of both commercial lines and personal lines underwriting.

Merrihew will continue to serve on the executive committee for Frankenmuth Mutual Holding Company and all subsidiary companies.

He has been with Frankenmuth for 30 years and was promoted to chief commercial lines officer in 2024 after previously serving as head of commercial lines operations.

Throughout his tenure, Merrihew has led several key initiatives, including a technology transformation, department and regional restructuring, implementation of the auto optional class plan, state expansion efforts and, most recently, a small commercial initiative.
