Ambridge appoints Munich Re Specialty’s Brogan as cyber head

June 18 - (The Insurer) - Ambridge Group has brought in James Brogan from Munich Re Specialty Insurance to fill its vacant cyber head role.

Brogan has joined Amynta-owned Ambridge as senior vice president, head of cyber and tech E&O.

Ambridge said Brogan will work with the company’s team to expand its cyber and tech E&O offerings to the middle and large markets.

Prior to Ambridge, Brogan spent just over five years with Munich Re Specialty.

He most recently served the company as vice president, cyber and tech E&O underwriting. Before joining Munich Re Specialty in 2020, Brogan spent two years at Ironshore. His career also includes five years at Allied World.

In joining Ambridge, Brogan has filled the cyber head role that was vacated after Jeff Norton left the company earlier this month.

As sister title Cyber Risk Insurer revealed, Norton left Ambridge after seven years with the company, having led its cyber offering since June 2021.

Norton had remained with Ambridge after Amynta acquired the business from Fairfax-owned Brit at the beginning of 2023.

Prior to joining Brit in 2018, Norton spent close to a decade at Beazley as an underwriter focused on professional liability, specialising in information security and privacy liability, technology E&O, miscellaneous professional liability and media liability.
