UK foreign minister calls for de-escalation in conversation with Israeli counterpart

June 14 (Reuters) - British foreign minister David Lammy said on Saturday he had spoken to his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar and expressed concern for civilians in Israel.
"I reiterated the UK's call for a de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East," Lammy said in a post on social media platform X.
"Now is the time for restraint, calm and a return to diplomacy," he added.
