EU's von der Leyen says she had 'good call' with Trump ahead of G7 summit

June 14 (Reuters) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Saturday she had a good call with U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of the G7 summit.
The leaders took stock of the ongoing trade negotiations and von der Leyen reiterated the EU's commitment to securing a favorable agreement before July 9, she said in a post on X.
"We discussed the tense geopolitical situation in the Middle East as well as the need for close coordination on the impact on energy markets," von der Leyen added.
