June 14 (Reuters) - Russia handed over the bodies of 1,200 dead Ukrainian soldiers to Kyiv, Russian state media reported on Saturday, citing unidentified sources, and a prisoner-of-war exchange between the warring sides is underway.
The Russian side did not receive any bodies of its dead soldiers from Ukraine in return, state media reported, citing the sources.
Ukraine earlier on Saturday confirmed it had received the bodies of its soldiers killed in action. The return of the killed soldiers is part of agreements reached by Kyiv and Moscow during their talks in Istanbul earlier this month.
