German Foreign Minister Wadephul says Iran nuclear armament not acceptable

FRANKFURT, June 12 (Reuters) - Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Thursday that Germany will not accept Iran getting nuclear weapons, at a press conference with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani in Rome.
"Everyone wants to avoid any escalation. We will not stand by idly and watch Iran become nuclear-armed. That must be made clear in this situation," Wadephul said.
He will travel to the Middle East tonight, and will be in Israel on Sunday, where the issue of Iran will be on the table, he said.
