Exclusive: Canopius hires QBE’s Lowe as head of specialty reinsurance in Bermuda

June 10 - (The Insurer) - Canopius has hired Tom Lowe from QBE in Bermuda as head of specialty reinsurance, reinsurance broking and underwriting, sources told The Insurer.

Lowe spent nearly a decade with QBE, where he most recently served as vice president of treaty underwriting and head of treaty underwriting for its captive reinsurers Equator Re and Blue Ocean Re.

He previously underwrote energy liability and offshore energy property.

Spokespersons for Canopius and QBE did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
