Beazley adds Swiss Re's Wunderlich as head of parametric insurance

June 10 - (The Insurer) - Specialty insurer Beazley has appointed Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Stefan Wunderlich as head of parametric insurance, the company said on Tuesday.

He will be based in Zurich, Switzerland, and report to Richard Montminy, Beazley’s group head of property risks.

Wunderlich was most recently chief product officer for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' risk data and services unit. He previously co-founded insurtech Emilian and spent seven years as Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' head of nat cat.

Beazley’s recent parametric initiatives include capacity partnerships with alternative risk transfer MGU SRS Altitude, weather risk specialist Arbol and retail tornado coverage provider Sola. Parametric Insurer was first to report last month that Beazley was offering line sizes of up to $50 million behind Altitude for parametric tropical cyclone and earthquake risks.
