SAO PAULO, June 9 (Reuters) - Latin American e-commerce giant MercadoLibre MELI.O will no longer have shareholders weigh in on a proposal to move its U.S. operations from Delaware to Texas, it said in a filing on Monday.
The firm, a regional competitor to Amazon, did not give a reason for the decision. It had argued that a move to Texas would be beneficial as state business law gave the company more certainty in decision-making.
