Rokstone hires Chandran to spearhead Asia Pacific expansion

June 5 - (The Insurer) - Rokstone has appointed Rama Chandran to lead its operations in Asia Pacific, the Aventum-owned MGA said on Thursday.
Chandran currently serves as head of marine for Asia at QBE, having previously held roles with Argo Underwriting, Asia Capital Re and Swiss Re.
He will be tasked with leading Rokstone's expansion across Asia, including the planned launch of a Singapore hub.
Rokstone said its Singapore unit will underwrite all marine classes, including construction (builders risk), cargo, hull, and liability marine classes, backed by a multi-year $25 million Lloyd's capacity agreement.
Chandran, who is also a former chairman of the Ocean Hull Committee at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI), will join following completion of his notice period with QBE.
