US' NATO commitment tied to higher Europe, Canada defence spending, says Rutte

BRUSSELS, June 4 (Reuters) - The United States' NATO commitment comes with the expectation that Europe and Canada will spend much more on defence, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte told reporters on Wednesday ahead of a meeting with defence ministers in Brussels.
He added that Washington is "completely committed" to NATO's mutual defence pact and that there are no plans to withdraw American troops from Europe at the moment.
