
MEXICO CITY, June 3 (Reuters) - Mexican Indigenous rights defender Hugo Aguilar is leading the race to head the nation's highest court following a popular vote, according to data from the nation's electoral authority on Tuesday.
With 87% of votes counted, Aguilar had some 4.94 million votes - 5.2% of the total. Lenia Batres, who is close to the ruling Morena party, came in behind him at 4.69 million votes, or 4.9%.
