June 2 - (The Insurer) - Acies MGU has appointed Rachael Light as senior underwriter to lead a new offering for recruitment companies from its newly launched MGA Acies Specialist Schemes, the company announced on Monday.
Light previously spent three years at Kingfisher Insurance Services. Prior to that, she spent seven years at SEIB Insurance Brokers, where she managed several delegated authority schemes across a range of niche sectors.
Light will be joined by Nikki Cox, who has also joined from Kingfisher, where she was schemes development executive. Before that, Cox also worked at SEIB.
Backed by A-rated capacity, Acies Specialist Schemes is focused on launching specific solutions for various industries and niche sectors, which require distinct products and services not typically provided by the traditional insurance marketplace.
The MGU’s first product for recruitment companies offers a combination of professional indemnity, public liability, and employers’ liability coverage, as well as property and business interruption. It also covers other risks associated with contractual liabilities, overseas placements, and other sector-specific challenges.
Last year, Acies MGU launched Phoenix Specialty, an Axa UK-backed specialist MGA serving the construction sector. Phoenix Specialty named Andrew Charlton as managing director in January, succeeding Tim James who moved to the role of CEO of Phoenix Global.
