June 2 (Reuters) - Dye & Durham DND.TO named former LexisNexis executive George Tsivin as chief executive on Monday, rejecting a candidate backed by ex-CEO and activist investor Matthew Proud, who has threatened a proxy battle with the legal software firm. Proud had pushed the company's board to give the job to the interim chief, Sid Singh, Reuters reported last month. Proud left the CEO role at Dye & Durham more than six months ago and controls Plantro Ltd, a company which owns 12% of Dye & Durham.
