May 26 (Reuters) - Germany's new Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul plans to travel to the United States on Tuesday to meet his counterpart, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for an inaugural visit, a German ministry spokesperson said on Monday.
Talks with Rubio are scheduled for Wednesday and will focus on bilateral relations with the United States, support for Ukraine against Russia, as well as transatlantic security and defence policy.
The agenda will also include discussions on Middle East policy and trade relations between the EU and the United States, the spokesperson added.
