KYIV, May 23 (Reuters) - Ukraine's military general staff said on Friday that it had hit a Russian battery-manufacturing facility in Lipetsk region which it said supplied Russia's missile and bomb manufacturers.
In a statement on Telegram, the general staff said it had hit the Energiya plant in the city of Yelets.
"The shutdown of Energiya may leave some of the Russian occupiers' military equipment and weapons without critical batteries," it said.
The general staff said its batteries were used in aerial bombs, cruise missiles and the Iskander-M ballistic missile.
Russia fires regular missile and drone salvos at Ukraine. Kyiv, which lacks Moscow's traditional long-range firepower, has responded with domestically-produced strike drones.
