White House says Vance invited Pope Leo for a visit with Trump

WASHINGTON, May 19 (Reuters) - Vice President JD Vance delivered a letter to Pope Leo during their meeting inviting the pontiff to visit the United States and the White House, U.S. officials said on Monday.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said Vance's letter extended the invite on behalf of President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
