Ukraine is ready to take quick steps for peace, Zelenskiy says

KYIV, May 16 (Reuters) - Ukraine is ready to take the fastest possible steps for peace, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said after he and European leaders call spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Our position — if the Russians reject a full and unconditional ceasefire and an end to killings, tough sanctions must follow," Zelenskiy said on X. "Pressure on Russia must be maintained until Russia is ready to end the war."
