May 15 - (The Insurer) - Lloyd's corporate affairs director Rebekah Clement is set to leave the Corporation at the end of the month, a Lloyd's spokesperson confirmed to The Insurer.
Clement was named corporate affairs director in 2023, reporting directly to CEO John Neal. She has worked for Lloyd's since 2015, with her previous roles at the Corporation including sustainability director.
In her most recent role she was responsible for Lloyd’s capabilities and resources across government policy and affairs, external stakeholder engagement, corporate communications and media, and thought leadership.
Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Clement held a number of public and private sector roles, including serving as press secretary to the governor-general of New Zealand.
A Lloyd’s spokesperson said: “Having successfully established Lloyd’s Corporate Affairs and Sustainability capabilities, Rebekah has decided that now is the time to step down as Corporate Affairs Director to pursue a new opportunity outside Lloyd’s.
"As Lloyd’s first Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director, she has played a key role in strengthening and protecting Lloyd’s position, as a global (re)insurance leader, convenor and strategic partner for building resilience around the world to key societal challenges.
“We would like to thank Rebekah for the role she has played in Lloyd’s success over the last decade, including her work to develop and lead Lloyd’s first sustainability strategy, together with its programme of strategic initiatives and pioneering partnerships, and wish her all the best for the future.”
Her departure comes amid a series of changes to the leadership team at Lloyd's, with CEO Neal set to depart on May 31 after Patrick Tiernan was named as his successor. Tiernan's appointment followed the arrival of Charles Roxburgh to replace Bruce Carnegie-Brown as chair on May 1.
