May 15 - (The Insurer) - Axa XL has promoted Mick Turvey to head of mid-market underwriting and UK regions for the UK and Lloyd’s segments.
In his new role, Turvey will lead the underwriting strategy for the middle market with a focus on UK clients with domestic and international exposures. He will also head the UK regional teams in Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, London, and Manchester.
Axa XL’s UK mid-market business is estimated to be 9 billion pounds of gross written premium, Mike Gosselin, chief underwriting officer, UK and Lloyd’s, said in a release.
Turvey was previously heading retail property and casualty for the UK team. He joined Axa XL in 2018 following its acquisition of XL Catlin, where he served as UK regional underwriting manager.
