Berlin backs Trump demand to hike NATO spending to 5% of GDP, Wadephul says

ANTALYA, May 15 (Reuters) - Germany backs U.S. President Donald Trump's demand to increase NATO's spending target to 5% of national GDP, Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Thursday.
"The result ... is the 5% that U.S. President Trump has demanded, and we are following him in this respect," Wadephul said at a meeting with his NATO counterparts in Antalya.
