Turkey ready to host Ukraine-Russia peace talks in Istanbul, Erdogan tells Putin

ANKARA, May 11 (Reuters) - Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Sunday that Turkey was ready to host peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul again, Erdogan's office said.
Putin early on Sunday proposed direct talks with Ukraine aimed at ending the war, saying that he would speak to Erdogan about facilitating the talks.
