May 9 - (The Insurer) - Arthur J Gallagher has hired well-known cyber broking executive Akhil Chopra from Lockton, marking the latest prominent cyber talent move in recent weeks, multiple senior cyber sources told Cyber Risk Insurer.
Chopra spent the last four years with Lockton as managing director and cyber growth leader after a little over a year at NFP as cyber brokerage leader.
He previously spent a dozen years at Marsh, where he had been the cyber practice leader for the Qualified Solutions Group and two years as a professional liability and cyber broker at Integro, after spending three years with Aon to start his career.
At NFP, Chopra was responsible for developing the intermediary’s overall cyber strategy and brokerage operations.
An announcement of his hire at Lockton said that Chopra at Marsh built out and managed multiple teams across the U.S. to help sell cyber offerings to new and existing clients.
Spokespersons for Gallagher and Lockton did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Chopra is the latest notable move of cyber talent across the industry.
In recent weeks, Cyber Risk Insurer has exclusively reported that Tim Francis is joining Liberty Mutual from Travelers as North American cyber head, Manny Cho has joined Coalition from Risk Placement Services and Corvus CISO Jason Rebholz was leaving the insurtech.
