May 8 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday he told U.S. President Donald Trump in a telephone call that Kyiv was ready for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia "starting this minute."
Zelenskiy, speaking in his nightly video address, also said implementing a 30-day ceasefire, as first proposed by Washington in March, would be a "real indicator" of movement towards peace.
The Ukrainian president said Russia had to demonstrate its readiness to end the war, starting with an unconditional ceasefire.
