British Airways parent IAG to order about 30 jets from Boeing, Bloomberg News reports

ReutersMay 8, 2025 5:56 PM

- British Airways parent IAG ICAG.L is poised to order about 30 Boeing BA.N 787 Dreamliner aircraft, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The deal may also include options that increase the number of planes, the report stated. Airbus AIR.PA may also receive some widebody orders from IAG.

Boeing and IAG did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.

Earlier in the day, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the United Kingdom will purchase $10 billion of Boeing planes, though the details were unclear.

The order adds on to an already large backlog for Boeing, even as the planemaker struggles with supply chain snags in its attempt to ramp up production.
