Russia, China will ramp up cooperation to counter US, joint statement says

MOSCOW, May 8 (Reuters) - Russia and China intend to ramp up cooperation to decisively counter U.S. efforts to contain both countries, they said in a joint statement published by the Kremlin on Thursday.
The statement, issued after talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, also said Moscow and Beijing would continue to strengthen their military cooperation.
