May 6 - (The Insurer) - Specialty MGA Rokstone has expanded its Dubai operations with the appointment of Kamil Mammadov as head of short-tail lines.
In his new role, which is subject to regulatory approval, Mammadov will report to Giles Hussey, former Guy Carpenter managing director who was named CEO of Rokstone's Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) operations last month.
Mammadov is set to join Rokstone DIFC in June after serving his notice period at Barents Re, where he has spent a four-month stint as chief underwriting officer.
Prior to that, he spent six years as head of property at Oman Insurance Company. Other previous roles include
senior commercial property underwriter at AIG Dubai.
Rokstone DIFC is authorised and regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), having received regulatory approval in August last year.
The Aventum Group-owned MGA also received a licence from the DFSA to establish the new office in DIFC in November.
