SYDNEY, May 5 (Reuters) - Australia Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said on Monday that the government would be standing up "unequivocally" for the film industry, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a plan to impose 100% tariffs on American movies produced overseas.
“I've spoken to the CEO of Screen Australia and we're monitoring this closely," Burke said in a statement to Reuters.
“Nobody should be under any doubt that we will be standing up unequivocally for the rights of the Australian screen industry.”
