Rubio tells French counterpart words are not enough on Ukraine

WASHINGTON, May 1 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday praised France for rallying European support for a Ukraine peace deal but said Europe must step up with real resources and political will to help bring the war to end, the State Department said.
"Secretary Rubio commended France’s leadership in rallying European and Ukrainian support for a sustainable deal but made clear that words are not enough," the department quoted Rubio as saying in a phone call with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barro.
