Mariott to close Haiti hotel due to insecurity

PORT-AU-PRINCE, April 23 (Reuters) - Mariott MAR.O will shutter a hotel in Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince due to ongoing insecurity, the head of Digicel Haiti, which jointly developed the site, told Reuters on Wednesday.
Mariott opened the hotel in 2015. Armed gangs have made strong advances throughout Haiti in recent months, forcing tens of thousands of residents from their homes.
