- (The Insurer) - Argo’s head of primary and excess casualty Chris Schramm has left the company ahead of taking up another post elsewhere, broking and underwriting sources have said.

Details on Schramm’s destination could not immediately be confirmed. A spokesperson for Argo did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Schramm could not be reached for comment.

Schramm spent six years with the company, including three years as head of primary casualty before taking on additional oversight of excess casualty about a year ago.

He previously spent more than a decade with CapSpecialty, which is now owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

His exit comes around a month after Argo CEO Jessica Buss stepped down after almost 18 months in the role.

Schramm’s departure is the latest notable talent move in the excess casualty segment, after E&S Insurer exclusively reported last week that Ed Wu had left his post as U.S. casualty lead at HDI Global after only months in the role.

The Insurer was previously the first to report that Allianz Commercial’s North American head of liability insurance Carol Laufer had left the company.

The Insurer also was the first to report that Zurich North America had recruited Atlanta-based Markel excess casualty executive Steve Tralongo and a trio of his colleagues, and that Nationwide’s retail excess casualty head Glen Curley planned to retire.

Nationwide announced earlier this week that Mary Horsch will take over Curley’s vacated position.
