Brit names Mudd active underwriter of Syndicate 2988

April 23 - (The Insurer) - Lloyd's insurer Brit Insurance has appointed Jonathan Mudd as active underwriter for Syndicate 2988.

Mudd currently serves as managing director, finpro and cyber, a role he will continue to hold alongside his new responsibilities.

Having joined Brit in 2003, other previous roles include deputy active underwriter for Syndicate 2988.

Simon Bird will continue in his role as group executive underwriter.

Syndicate 2988 follows business written by Fairfax Financial-owned Brit’s lead Syndicate 2987, as well as additional third-party business.

In 2024, Syndicate 2988 wrote 181 million pounds ($241 million) of premium, while Syndicate 2987's gross written premiums increased by 4.48% year on year to $2.86 billion.
